Techopedia explains Self-Provisioning. Self-provisioning is great to a point. It allows users across the organization to be self-sufficient and it saves time compared to the old requisition method, which could take hours depending on whether IT personnel are busy with more urgent tasks or queued up with similar requests. How to Provision a Polycom Phone 8. To enter your FTP provisioning boot server information to the phone: 1 On the phone, press Menu > Settings > Advanced and enter the phone’s password. When you connect a cable modem to your CATV service line, the modem requests an uplink with the provider. The modem announces its identification through the MAC address, and the provider’s server confirms if your modem has authorization. The process of activating a modem to authorize it on a network is called provisioning. Whether you’re replacing an existing modem or establishing new service, the modem you are using must be provisioned on the Comcast servers. Activate your modem by establishing a direct connection to your computer.
1.Turn off your computer after saving any open files.
2.Set your new Comcast cable modem near your computer and run a coaxial cable from a splitter or wall plate to the back of the modem. Ensure the connection to the back of your modem is hand-tight.
3.Run an Ethernet cable between the back of your computer and modem.
4.Plug in the modem’s power and turn on your computer.
5.Open a Web browser. This should automatically take you to the activation screen. If it does not, copy and paste “https://activate.comcast.com/RoutingEngine/accountlookup.do” into the browser’s address bar and press “Enter.” Follow the on-screen prompts in the automated utility to activate your modem and agree to the Comcast Agreement for Residential Services license agreement.

Hi, I'm a seventeen year old girl and this is my first time dealing with comcast over the phone so I need to prepare. I hope someone here can help me.
Self Provisioning Definition
Reserve health readiness program pharmec. My dad usually takes care of any internet problems that come up, so I'm a little uncertain about some details. We just recently got a new modem (rented from comcast) to replace one that quit working and it's been causing issues.
Basically, anybody that tries to connect to our internet is taken to a walled garden page (I guess that's what they're called?) that asks you to click through some sort of set-up process for comcast. Then at the end you're asked to download their software, ostensibly to allow your computer and modem to communicate.
My dad went through this process on the family laptop and afterwards when I opened chrome I noticed that comcast had completely overridden our browser settings with their xfinity search engine / webpages and put a few new icons on our desktop. I followed the instructions on this page to get things back to normal, but my dad was forced to download it all again because that self-activation page came back up. https://pricesskyey895.weebly.com/patrick-lee-the-breach-ebook.html.
For whatever reason, comcast's activation page didn't show up on my laptop until just now. My dad's resigned to keeping comcast's junk on his computer, but this stuff seems suspicious (and annoying) to me and I really don't want it on my laptop. I should also mention, a similar page has been popping up on my phone every few days (it doesn't ask you to install anything, just makes you hit 'next' a few times). Anyway, I'm getting tired of it.
My plan is to call comcast to sort it all out, but I need to know exactly what to say to them. (I've heard that comcast reps are pretty hit-and-miss.)
Here's a page talking about the same thing that's happening to me, if it helps.
Thanks for your time.
